OUR ECOTOURISM ETHICS CUSTOMIZE YOUR JOURNEY

Isla Corazón is an island located near the coast of Ecuador in the province of Manabí. Situated in the Chone River estuary close to the town Bahía de Caráquez, it has one of the best-conserved mangrove eco-systems to be found in the coastal region, and lucky visitors will not only experience the beauty and mystery of the mangrove forest but also be able observe tropical and maritime bird species.

Isla Corazón is the prefect place to enjoy canoe rides and guided treks on an elevated wooden ramp which winds its way through the mangrove as well as the special attraction of the unusual natural formations known as the ‘mangrove tunnels’. Traditional fishing can also be observed in action.

Isla Corazón puts great emphasis on interpretation for visitors. So a visit to the Environmental Interpretation Center is highly recommended as the way to become familiar with the coastal and maritime life of the area, and to learn about the various conservation activities under way to protect it.
