M/V Galapagos Explorer II is drastically different from those offered by other ships, simply because it offers a unmatched mix between sustainable tourism, adventure activities, and discovery.

This 100-passenger ship started cruising in 1999. Explorer II is extremely comfortable with large "Suites" (not cabins), large public areas including a outdoor dining area with pool and Jacuzzi, a sundeck for soaking up the sun and relaxing in between visits, a lounge and piano bar. There is a doctor on board. Naturalist guides are top-notch and help make your Galapagos experience a rewarding education in nature and wildlife. There is a naturalist room, where visitors can watch videos, read books, look at pictures and maps all related to the Galapagos Islands. One of the unique offerings the Explorer also provides is the opportunity for individuals to sit with one of the naturalists one-on-one to discuss anything visitors wish to know about the Galapagos. The Galapagos Explorer II is the only vessel in the islands to have one of the scientists from the Darwin Station travel during each departure. This is the most deluxe ship cruising the islands.

Facilities and Accommodation

Our signature fleet of three identical Superior first-class 20-passenger motor yachts, M/Y Eric, Flamingo I, and Letty, were custom-designed for Galapagos excursions. These sister yachts offer tremendous value and superior comfort in spacious accommodations for small groups.

Built in 1991 and refurbished every year, each yacht features ten double outside facing cabins located on three decks with polished teak wood interiors, window view or portholes. They are fully air conditioned throughout, have private bath facilities with fresh, hot-and-cold-water showers, hair dryer, toiletries, roomy closet and drawers.

Overhead storage is also provided, as are separate climate controls, ionizer (iguana and booby deck only), intercom system, life vests, bottled water and fresh towels.

A seasoned Captain, eight dedicated crewmembers, and two experienced English speaking naturalist guides attend to the details of your Galapagos cruise.

Each naturalist takes a group of no more than 10 passengers on all shore excursions and shares extensive insights into the Islands ' diverse wildlife. Small wooden boats, locally called pangas, ferry passengers to shore for Island visit
